Drupal & Android Love

We share an office with Gilad Ben Yossef, a very well known Linux hacker here in Israel and manager of a company calledCodefidence.
When he got his latest toy (an android G1 developer mobile phone) we immediately started to think of how these two "Kick Ass Platforms" can play together.

Gilad implemented the DroidPal Android application which accesses an Android friendly Drupal site.
This "Android Friendliness" comes with the Android module which can be found at http://www.drupal.org/project/android .
All of the communication is done through the services module over json and we use iui for the interface.

We will be posting the code for the android module and DroidPal shortly.
Until you can get your hands on the code and get involved in some Drupal and Android action, you can check out our demo....

We have many more exciting ideas about Drupal and Android integration and we'd love to brainstorm about improving the integration of them.

P.S. No robots where harmed in the production of this movie!

Haha! That's awesome. I hit it from the other end: http://patrickteglia.com/blog/drupal-7-served-g1-phone-using-lighttpd-we... but I must admit, yours is obviously useful, where mine, though fun :) was maybe not quite as useful.

I will be downloading this and playing with it to be sure.

Thanks,
